A libation dubbed "quintessentially British," the Pimm's Cup is a palate pleaser and cleanser, with its crisp freshness and cool finish. While browsing what The Wellesbourne in Los Angeles calls the "Liquor Cabinet," I was a bit hesitant to order this cocktail at first, because I'm not the cucumber/ginger type. I like it when my drinks taste like flower fields and sunshine. Pimms' herbaceous, full-bodied flavor did the trick, however. This was one of the most successful drinks I've had in a while! It helped that I had a cucumber wedge as a party favor. I love eating my garnishes!

Yet another cocktail I have been meaning to try but I always seem to forget about it when I'm at a bar.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds great for the summer. Even now, for that matter, with this darn heat!
But what about the other drink in the pic? Is that the Planter's Punch?
It is! I heard that one was good, too. I really really like the Wellesbourne. Had the kir royale the first time and it was just ok for me.
ReplyDeleteThey have some pretty good drinks (food too) across the street by the Landmark Theater as well. Westside Tavern. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteSo interesting to read this. I was recently out for drinks with a friend and she had one of these drinks. I'd never seen or really heard of such a drink before and was also wondering about the cucumber. Now I'm so curious to try one.
